| I have a pair of new pair of GT40P heads for a Ford 302 SB. I bought them off Ebay a few years ago and was going to install them, but never did. I paid over $600.00 + SH for them then. I would like to get $500.00 + shipping back out of them. If my memory serves me correctly I think (not positive) they were set up with 2.02/1.60 stainless valves with dual springs to handle at least .600 lift. If any interest at all I will pull them down off the shelf and make sure I am correct on the specs. They have been in the boxes wrapped in plastic since I bought them. I will only ship them to the lower 48 states. I am sure do to their weight each it will cost close to $50.00 to ship them. I am firm on the price so no low balling me on them as I have seen bare head castings sell for what I am asking. You can email me direct at polarisriderxc600@yahoo.com and I do except Pay Pal. Thanks | |

| Just an FYI for anyone considering buying these heads.
First, $500 is a good deal, IMO Second, I bought a set of new GT40P's 2 years ago from a guy in Rochester NY and had them shipped via truck to a business address in Ct and the cost was $48 dollars. They are heavy so keep that in mind when you consider shipping charges. | |

| They did sound tempting until today, I found a complete 2001 302 good motor for $350.00 bones......so I think I will pass even if yours are still a good deal. | |

| i understand the gt-40 heads are suposed to be the BOMB so far as flow goes, but i also heard the exhaust manifolds are different so far as fitting a fox body. i believe there was a manufactuer that makes them, i can't remember right now, it may be BBK. i also heard that the original early ford cast iron manifolds would fit the angled spark plug heads therefore giving no clearance issues from the steering collumn shaft. GT-40P heads are abundant on 96 1/2 & up 5.0 Explorers, 96 1/2 below have the GT-40 heads. the Explorer 5.0 engines are remarkably similar to the Cobra engines bar a few bits and pieces. | |

| I wrote to BBK and asked about their long tubes fitting. They wrote back and said their long tubes do fit but their shorties do not and they referred me to MAC! | |

| What is the factory rocker arm ratio for an Explorer with GT-40P heads?
I'm curious, because I am using the 1.6 stock rockers, and the pushrods seem to be close to the top of the holes, which are a little smaller on the P heads than they were on the E7TEs.
Later, Mike. | |

| Ok, I have my GT40p heads.....will I have an issue with putting them on my '88 351w ? I know about the headers and drilling out the head bolts ? | |

| Well I still have them and won't be lowering the price. I might even keep them and build another 351W as I do not have to sell them. I figured I asked a fair price and if somebody needed a good set I would sell them. The 351W heads I had in the car before used the same Hedman Hustler headers on my GT40P heads. I was glad they did cause I was not going to buy another set just to swap heads. The spark plug angle is the only difference and with STOCK manifolds may cause an issue. $350.00 for a used junk yard motor is not bad. Take the heads off and get them rebuilt with stainless oversized valves and double spings and see what you have invested in them then. A lot easier to store a pair of heads than a complete motor. | |
