Question on heads Empty
PostSubject: Question on heads   Question on heads Icon_minitimeThu Aug 13, 2009 7:20 pm

Looking at another 351. It's nicely assembled and I can drop it right in and be running in a weekend.

Question I have is on the heads. It has a set of 1969 small chamber (54cc) heads that have been ported. The compression ratio is about 10.5. Anyone have any idea where I might find flow numbers for these heads in stock form? Isn't 10.5 CR high for a street setup with iron heads? I thought heat would be an issue. I could probably trade these heads off for some GT40P heads and drop the CR if needed.

Thoughts?

Don

You can run 10.5 on the street, I did it in with my Dodge 360 and made a bunch of hp. You just might have to run premium gas though. Not sure of stock flow numbers on a 54 cc head, but if you wanna drop the cr and not have to run premium, pop on some gt40p's if you have a set available.

Premium is no problem, I run it now. Since it gets driven so little the cost is okay.

Thanks for the reply!
