Back in the Fairmont saddle again.
Wed Apr 16, 2014 2:35 pm by mlarky
Hi Gang,

I'm back in the Fairmont saddle again. I bought back a 1980 Fairmont coupe I built in 2005 with my son. Sold it to his friend, Brian in 2006. Then 3 weeks ago he sold it back. It was one of those "shouldn't have sold it" cars. BUT...In the end I think I made a mistake. I remember the car as it was when I sold it to him. I let my emotions rule over my head. Turns out Brian …

I have a 79 merc zephyr, she is or was pristeen until just a few days ago. A deer took out my left front fender. Everything else is ok, she still runs an tires and alignment seem to be intact. My question is what are my options for repair, can I use a fender off of same year fairmont or maybe the z7 model? Is there anyplace that will manufacture a fender for this style of car? Or anyone on this …

New From Indiana

Just picked up my 1980 4cyl 4spd sedan on Saturday. Was a hairy drive home due to a tire separation, but otherwise an enjoyable drive. Got it from a kid who bought it from the original owner to practice bodywork and paint. He did a decent job of straightening the body and painting for his first time. The old 4cyl runs as well as I could have hoped and will be fine to drive for the …

I don't know if I've done much to help the car but I'm trying, I've done a full an in-depth tune up only to discover the rings are shot an I have massive blow by! Lol, oh well I was gonna do a 302 swap but I …

Hello all. Ive been a member for a few months but this is my first post. I am restoring a 79 boxtop Zephyr for a daily driver. I have built many mustangs and figured its time for something different. My car is an original 302/C4 car. It has factory bucket seats and a floor shifter which I hadnt seen before on an auto. I bought it with 76,000 miles. I thought it was nice but after removing …

Hello from Arizona
Thu Aug 09, 2012 8:53 pm by AZCruise
Chris from Phoenix AZ. Just wanted to say hello. Just purchased a beautiful 1979 Mercury Zephyr Z7 with 76k original miles. White with red interior, 302 auto. All original and in great condition. Plans include swapping to 5 lug with disc brakes all around, possibly 4 barrel intake as well. I am sure I will have a few questions.

Hi I am new here just found this site. I own a 1978 mercury zephyr 2 door and i am having trouble finding replacement parts for it. Mainly what I am looking for is the window run channel and the inside and outside scrapper rubber for windows. Needed for both doors. Any help would be very helpful thank you.
