you guys with the good looking cars ought to go sneak into the Ford Motor Company annual picnic, you never know they may resurrect the Fairmont, since Ford are kinda going retro with the mustangs, who knows they may even keep the same body style, nobody knows what a Fairmont is, yesterday I sold some parts to a guy who builds hot rods, he called my car a Granada!
i can’t say much, he builds some beautiful cars from the 40's & 50's, that’s his thing. He offered his services for anything i needed, but these guys are craftsmen, there’s no way i can afford their services, but i may take them up on something, as he needs a 5.0 engine, i showed him mine. Usually when i sell complete engine that is good, i like to sell it on a stand, it’s an extra $35-$50 bucks from me, but it’s easier to store, easier to show, easier to load and easier to store when the dude gets it home, it’s more of a feel-good thing, but truthfully, overall it’s a back saving measure and i hate haggling.
I kinda wish i had met this dude before, he’s is very knowledgeable about what fits what, he is a big fan of the Ford Mustangs and Explorers, but he only sees them as donors, what a guy!! As most of you guys already know the 96 ½ yr model Explorers and below have the Cobra engines, and the 96 ½ & up engines have the GT40P heads, and now that there are shorty headers for the P heads, this is FOX heaven!!!
Anyway, wouldn’t it be cool if Ford did bring the Fairmont back,a nice little 4 cyl or V-6, front wheel drive, electric windows, SYNC etc…..well maybe not….. but rear wheel drive with a new 5.0 w/6 speed yeah…..
It's kinda like finding a lost sheep, who knows if it all pans out we could have some spare parts.
So get up there with your cars and make a statement.

Kind of a haul for me. Although I'm closer than you, haha.

The Fairmont IS kind of forgotten. It's like when the Taurus came along, people forgot about it. There is still a Fairmont in Australia I think though. Its straight-6 is even descended from the engine that came in a lot of our cars. I'd be satisfied if they sold the Aussie Falcon/Fairmont in the US. If you look at Ford Social, people are screaming for Ford to do it.
