Well after many years of using stock parts for upgrading, I have now chosen to go with the Anthony Jones Engineering tubular cross member. I will be using the coil spring set up .

I have decided that the AJE tubular was what I was looking for.

1 was wondering if any of you guys had used this cross member, and what lower control arms you may have used, and what results were noted.

I have 80 Fairmont, 88 Mustang GT & 97 Mustang GT to choose from. I have not done the geometry measurements as of yet, but wanted to know how you guys may have fared-out.

I’m kinda leaning towards the 97 L/C/A’s as they will give a wider front track, I don’t know if this will push the front wheels out of centre of the wheel arches. Like I said, I have not done the physical measurements yet.

Any ideas…..

You will not only have the wheels move out words but also forward too. Not a huge deal but you will need to watch your wheel and tire combo's.
I have QA1 tubular k-member and A-arms, coil overs.....the works. I have '98 Mustang GT spindles, rotors, brakes, and sway bars.

oh well we'll have to get the string guage out, i dont fancy wasting another set of ball joints.

I have the QA1 crossmember also along with late Fox Mustang control arms. My 17x8 wheels still fit fine.

late fox, could you be more specific, i have a set of 88 model L/C arms on my "parts storage "Mustang i wonder if they are the same.?? didnt they change around 1986.

i;m also wondering if shedding some weight from the frt end with the tubular k-member and since 'm also considering moving the battery to the trunk if this will give a sloppy frt suspension and a higher ride hieght.

haste makes waste, shoulda kept some stuff.

I put 91 fox control arms on mine. As far as I could see they are exaclty the same as my stock zephyr control arms. Im almost positive that the control arms are the same on alll the fox mustangs.

thanx for the info , now i can get on with making a screw-up on something else, im getting proficient at it!!!

dont know if any of you lads are up for an AJE k-member, but JEGS has a special running at the moment, purchase a AJE k-meber and recieve a 50 Bone rebate toward the next purchase of any AJE component, sales must be down or somethings up.

i got mine shipped to the house and when i opened it up, it looked like someone had tried to fit it, got frustrated and shipped it back.

got a replacement on the way. no hassles. good customer service, they even paid the return freight.
