| I was a member of this site a few years back. I saw where somebody had cut a 6 cyl K member to accept V8 mounts. Does anybody have that measurement ? And what specific motor mount works best. I put a stroker in my 90' LX and will be putting the 90' 302 from that into my 78' Zephyr Wagon. | |

| spend a few bucks on a tubular k instead. much easier to work on your motor and alot light/stronger. | |

| Thanks for the responce. But the point of this swap is to use existing parts, and do a project with my son. It's not going to be a big bucks thing, just a SBF powered, low geared, thrasher. I was just looking for a measurement, but I can hang the eng/tranny and cut away !!! | |

| If you are doing it on the cheap with the six cyl kmember, you need F-150 motor mounts and the cut isn't that big, just enough to clear the oil filter. Have fun with the father/son project, myself and my 7 yr old son are working on my Z7 together. | |

| Thanks Guys, hope somebody comes up with the measurement. But knowing that it's just a oil filter clearance , that's a help. As I have a SBF powered F 150, as well as a Fox bodied Mustang. So I can figure it out. | |

When I did this back in '91, I just cut new slots in the frame pads for my motor mounts to drop, and the cut the excess pad on the drivers side for oil filter clearance.I actually had the engine bolted in place besides the mounts to determine where everything would sit...pulled the engine back out and started cutting....I didn't have a torch at the time, so I had to use a grinder. That's why the engine came back out.....It's a lot more simple than one might think.

| Thanks guys, I am going to clean up the roller 302 , convert it to a carb, and proceed this week. I also have an E cam that I didn't like in the Stroker, so that's going in the Wagon. The Six had headers w/ X pipe and Jegs Flowies, so the exhaust shouldn't be to hard. I've allready ran it out to the back bumper. | |

| There were some pics of my wagon posted on the old site. Thar was during the 6 cyl. build. The car still looks the same, woodgrain and all. Probably going to run the Mustang turbines, but I have a set of 2" lowered springs that I haven't used on my other Foxes yet. so it's going to be dropped. It's allready got a 82 GT traclok under it, and I have some after market trailing arms, and some other V8 Mustang stuff left over. I think it's going to be fun. Later, | |

| Nah, I don't want to sell them at this time. If I convert the Mustang to 5 lug, I might, but that's not in the near future. I'll try and post a couple of pics of the wagon as it sets today. | |

Hey Patwagon, If you need any info on the engine swap just let me know ! Mid 70's to mid '80's F-150 small block v 8 motormounts, just set the mount in the hole closer to the fire wall. Mark the mount on the front edge and cut away a touch less then your mark. Saw zall works great and fast. Also, slot the holes in the K member up wards to help line up the mounts to the k-member and engine. Good luck, and ask away !!

| Thanks, somebody else sent me a link to your site, so I got pics of your K member mount. But good info on what year Truck mount will work. Thanks, I've pulled the 6 a couple times and I have a 90' Mustang that I put a 347 in, also used a beat up 82' GT for most of the parts for the V8 swap. Got the traclock under it allready. Thanks, Pat. | |

| This is a shitty pic of mine when I did the swap... I just made the cut at the tip of the V or whatever you want to call it thats on the mount. I have more then enough room to do an oil change and the only problem i have encountered with the swap is that you need to take the oil filter off to pull the engine, but i am unsure if you would have to do that anyways LOL. I used 79 F150 mounts as well. I also cut the other side so it would look even... | |

| Thanks, nice pic. I shouldn't have any problems. I would like to use Long Tube headers, does anybody have any comments on one brand over another. And will Fox bobied Mustang ones fit without to much modification? | |
