Man, bummer about all that rust! It's going to be so sweet when it's done though! I love the color!

Yeah! It was rediculous! I couldnt believe how clean the car looked compared to what was hiding undeneath. I had many more pics but didnt want to bore anyone. I even had to cut out the upper door jam channels and rebuild them. A normal person would have scrapped it but im glad I save this one. It was NOT safe to drive since there was really no structure left to the car. As for the color...THanks! Its a love it or hate it color just like the whole car. I wanted a different color that wasnt too flashy but cool. Its called Light Tundra Metallic. Its off of a 2007 Lincoln. I stuck with a mercury color.

Sorry guys. The project has been coming along slowly. Health issues have gotten in the way lately. I will post a few more pics up shortly. I plan to start rewiring the car this weekend. I hope to have it fired up in a few weeks.

I used stock control arms off of a 91 5.0 mustang. I put urethane bushings, new ball joints and some rattle can paint on them. I pretty much used everything off of a mustang that i could for the build. I figured it woul make future maintainance and parts replacement much easier.

For the driveshaft I got an aluminum unit out of a 90s F-150 pickup. I sent it off and had it shortened and balanced. Incase you are wondering I have around $250 in this custom aluminum driveshaft. I was quoted around $500 to build this thing from scratch from front to back in 3'' diameter tubing so I think it was a good move. Plus it should be just about indestructable. This thing is 4" in diameter so it was a tight fit underneith. I will show undercarriage pics soon. zephyr - My 79 Boxtop Zephyr 03810

Looking good! I had an aluminum Aerostar shaft I was considering using, but I cheaped out and stuck with steel. haha.
