I finally managed to get another white Fairmont, with red interior. It all came together after I stopped looking for one.
it is an ‘83 model, I got it from an old lady in Tucson. She has owned it since ‘85. She had it serviced just before I bought it. That was very nice, and an indication of how she took care of it. It has a 6 cyl eng, a/c etc, ford accessory wire wheel covers, r/s review mirror, owner handbook, ETC. it was always garaged. It has a bunch of junk in the trunk, but I haven’t been thru it yet.
She was a tough old bird to deal with, and she wanted real money for it, I tried to explain its actual value, but when she pulled out the receipts, I was forced to relent.
It has 117k on the odo, and a big bag of maintenance receipts. It does have some scratches as it is 30 yrs old, you kind expect to see that. The body is straight, but for a few waives in the hood from the hand-bag. the cluster has hardly any fading on the needles, radio is like new, new cat, it’s a gem, not like the other desert sun damaged cars.
I drove it home from the Old Pueblo in very windy/rainy weather, it did just fine. The window seals are fine, has a brand-new windshield, new tires, rear main, valve cover gasket, new rack, heater core radiator, loads of things.
I do have a conscience and hate to butcher a good car, as it is knocking on 30 yrs old, if was a mustang, I would have no issues and would have it disassembled and labeled .
If anyone is interested, I’ll let it go to a good home for the same asking price of $1200. Be advised I am located in Arizona. This vehicle is road worthy and reliable.
I will not be touching this one.
