hurray, tail light lenses!

hurray, i finally got my hands on some good tail light lenses! sure, they are zephyrs, but thats fine with me as long as they are in good condition and all match. i got them from this craigslist ad, 1980 mercury zephyr. It was a pain in the butt dealing with the guy, but i got them for only $60 (he asked only 50, but the atm had to give me 60, so i let him keep the extra)! and the inside lens parts were still there and in good shape also. and since it was already a hot ass day, they were somewhat easy popping out of the old sealer strip thing. only one slight crack/chip in the drivers side center, near the top right side.

now, does anyone have some tips on cleaning them up and making them look good again. they have the typical age related fade/fogginess i can find many articles on restoring them, but i want to hear from someone who has actually done it and got it to look nice.

oh, by the way, there wasnt much else there to get. interior mostly shot, fenders crushed, seats rotted. only good thing in my opinion if anyone is interested, is the rear bumper looked pretty good, its the plain with the two black bumper guards. a little cleaning/buffing would make it good great.
