| It took me and my dad almost 5 hours to change it out on my Zephyr. 5 HOURS!!!!!! Thats a job I wouldn't want to do in the parking lot of a parts store when it's 110 degrees and the pavement is burning your back and the block is burning your hands. So thats just a heads up to the 2.3 guys on here that need to replace there fuel pump. Also what is kinda nice is that the way the exhaust was routed I didn't have to worry about fuel leaking on to it and causing some real problems.
Is there anything that would have made it easier on me? That damn shroud that it has made it really hard (whats the purpose of that anyway?) and not to mention the power steering pump was in the way. So it pretty much ate up my entire Saturday. | |

| I remember when I first got my '79 'Mont (with 302), it needed a fuel pump. There was some sort of piece of metal around it. Really thick stuff, too, if I remember correctly. I was only 15, and I remember when I asked my dad how to get the pump off, since it was giving me so much trouble. He said, "take that off there, and throw it away." I did. My car hasn't exploded in flames yet, so I feel pretty fortunate.
Later, Mike. | |
