Well, i'm sure you all remember my saga with the brake booster. This past weekend when Stymee and I (mostly Stymee) finished doing the lines, we discovered that that booster has a torn diaphragm. Pisser, eh? Back out came the dash. I had been thinking that the way I installed it may have caused it to fail, maybe in some small part, maybe not. Like maybe if it was a little crooked it popped the diaphragm or something. I had to modify some of the mounting holes pretty extensively to make it fit. I may have, ahem, over-reacted, sorry Eric. I'm just so close to driving it. Unforseen setbacks like this sort of have more of an exclamation point on them because of that. And my wanting to have the car ready for the wedding. Time grows short.

But anyway, this coming weekend, i'm going to install a new booster. I'm becoming more hopeful as the days go I can install it without a problem, if i take my time and am careful. Send some good thoughts my way.

Good luck with the fresh install. Just take your time and it will work out fine.

I had my car ready to drive except for the brakes. It took me over a month and I finally worked it out.
I believe it was a combo of the booster, cylinder, lines, and prop valve.
The spring in the prop valve was rusted, the lines were blocked, seals in the cylinder were shot, and what the hell, I replaced the booster just because.

In the long run all the time spent will all be worth it in having a safe and reliable car.

Ya I can agree with that.... ZephyrEFI...You'll get it working in your favor now. It was fun working on your car. Just remeber you need to adjust the prop. valve for ther rear disc brakes.
Let me know how it goes and if you need me to help again.

Good Luck !!

Yep, I only have liminted time to work on it Saturday, so i think that will be good. It helps me a lot to be able to walk away for a while sometimes.

Red, sounds like you had some fun things to work though too.

I'm starting to think about exhaust too, so that gives me something positive to focus on. And from what i could tell on our short drive around the block with no power brakes, it seems like it handles a lot better than it did.

Well, your good thoughts must have helped. it went together nicely today. I think i may still have some air in the lines, i couldn't avoid completely removing the Master Cylinder, and i need to spend some time adjusting the rears, but it's on the road! Power brakes and all!

Pretty much. As long as I don't get pulled over on the way to the reception for loud exhaust, haha. If all goes well, I'll have some on there by then, but you never know.

Drove it to work today! I think i got the rear brakes dialed in last night.
