| I'm thinking that I might like to add a right side mirror to my boxtop. As many of you know, the glass and weather stripping is different between the mirror having one, and the plain one. Do any of you have/can you get/will you sell the glass and associated components to do this swap? If I don't do this, then I'll have to get one of those big "wink" mirrors. That's not the worst thing in the world, as a boxtop has scads of headroom.
Thanks, Mike. | |

| I did that swap over the winter. I had been avoiding the project because I thought that the mirror-mounting bracket was welded to the door. However it is located by three sheet metal screws and so in the end the swap was pretty straight forward. The most difficult part was drilling/removing the 3-prong rivets that hold the glass to the lift/regulator mechanism. Good luck with that.
I ended up using a nice scratch-free window from a Fox LTD (fit perfectly), along with a mirror from a Fairmont. I trimmed the horizontal rubber window sweeps to fit.
One other problem I encountered was that all the cars I found with right-hand mirror mirrors also had the optional full-height interior door trim panels that extend over the window sill. My car has the econo-version panels that don't cover the sills. The bezel that holds the mirror toggle-adjuster is different (smaller) on cars with the full-height panels. Are there Fairmont/Zephyr cars with right-hand mirrors and the econo door panels?

| Shitty thing is...I just threw out(ok a month ago) a passenger side mirror and broke a spare piece of passenger side window glass for mirrored passenger doors. | |
