Hello all! I'm, new to this Forum, and still after 31 years trying tio track down any of the other 78 ES 302 Fairmonts.. Yes, mine is an orininal owner car that my father purchased in 78 and had custom ordered.. Being the Ford fanatic that he was, and trying to recapture the feel of his totaled 65 Stang, ordered the Fully Loaded ES 302.. The base price was somewhere in the area of 3400.00 US and his final price for his was 6700.00 US.. We later found out through a friend FoMoCo that the production number for the ES 302 cars was 348, as who was crazy enough to buy a single car when you could have had 2 at that price.. I have only found one other ES 302, and as best I have been able to find, these are the only 2 ES 302's left in exsistance.. I myself being a dealer master tech for both Ford and Datsun back in late 70's and ealy 80's have been the only mechanic on my ES, and The car is still as it came from off the dealer lot and been in the garage its entire life as far as the body goes, but I had rebuilt the engine and driveline between 1984-85 to a some what all Ford Road racing spec.. Interestingly enough, I had shared my specs for converting the Modified pedestal engines with Dick Vermisch from SVO, as there where NO HiPo parts for this engine at that time, and you had to use the older Ford power parts.. So needless to say in 1986 the Ford Motorsport catalog featured guess what, My GT40 302 engine!! hehe Dick was as useless as he could be when asking for assistance, and my Thanks goes out to Bob Gliden and his Pro Stock Team, for the added assitance and custom manufacturers that helped finish the rebuild back then.. The car is currently awaiting the much needed restoration, as the paint has all been waxed away in 30 years as it was the Silver upper/ Black lower combo, and the carpets are now starting to show their age! I'll keep you all posted as to my progress this year with the car, and hope if any of you see an ES, you'll shoot me a pm, as the parts are virtually IMPOSSABLE to get.. Thanks to all, dave
