| Anyone running their car in the snow? My wagon is a daily driver, and I want to get some winter tires. I'm wondering whether I should go with a stock tire size 185/75R14 or if a 205/70R14 would make any kind of difference. Other than more expensive... I'm sticking with the 14" rim, got a nice set of steelies cheap.
The roads are usually frozen and snow packed up here. | |

| Stockers work just fine. I use to run my old '78 Futura year round many many years ago. Some good weight in the back made a huge difference as well. | |

| For winter tires, narrower/taller ones generally work better, because they punch down through the crap better, and are less likely to hydroplane. I'd run the 185/75s. | |

| Ya I'm coming to that conclusion as well. Plus, they're usually a few bucks cheaper. Probably get some Firestone Winterforce studded. | |

| I don't mind the winterforce, but I don't really like studs. For as good as they are when it's really bad, they are pretty bad when there isn't actually snow or ice on the road. I run without studs, and I have a set of cable chains to put on if it gets real, real bad. I haven't used the chains yet. | |

| I was out booting around a bit in the snow tonight, and it's actually not too bad with the all-seasons. I would like some chains too though.

| It'll be pretty damn good with the winterforce, especially if you get all four.
The limited slip diff wouldn't hurt.

| I've got 205, 65 15's on mine and they work, but I think they are a bit wide. I'm looking forward to having a posi this year . | |
