| I HAVE A 1978 FORD FAIRMONT AND I KNOW THE THUNDERBIRD SC REAR END BOLT UP. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM IS FINDING ONE I KNOW THIS GUY THAT IS PARTING OUT A 86 TOWN CAR WITH DISC BRAKES WILL THAT REAR END BOLT UP TO MY FAIRMONT THANKS ADAM | |

You mean '87-'88 Turbo Coupe, not Super coupe. It will bolt up, but it will also increase the track width, so you will have to be careful on wheel and tire selection to avoid rubbing the fenders. The Town car rear end will not bolt up, and is way too wide even if it did. -Mike S. | |

| The turbo coupe rear end is easy to put back to normal though, they even sell brackets so you can use normal mustang axels and keep the disk brakes. | |

| When I bought my 88 TC rear end I used one of those online used parts finder services. I found a 16,000 mile piece and paid $400 delivered. I'm going to try bolting up with the wheels I have but I'm keeping the website with the brackets handy just in case.
