| I have a chance ot pick up a new UPR tubular k member. I've heard they're not really strong enough for street use. The roads in MIchigan suck so I'm worried about this issue. The k member is their new chromemoly piece and comes with a-arms and coil overs.
Is anyone here running a tube k member and if so, what brand and is it holding up?
Thanks, Don | |

| I know stymee will be using the setup from QA1 and it looks pretty beefy. I've heard that they are supposed to be recommended track only, but I would think that track use would be way more stressful on that setup than street use would. Best you can do is give it a shot I guess. I think I'm gonna go with the QA1 set myself. | |

| Numerous running around town in Mustangs, never heard of one coming apart but our roads are pretty nice and well maintained, which may have something to do with it.

| ha ha, they are actually stronger when it comes to bending. i have a qa1 on my 408 motor and ive never had a problem in 5 years. buy it and some tubular controls arms and you wont be dissapointed.
if you want something beefier, buy the Aje stuff but they do cost a bit more.. | |

| i have qa1 piece.well worth the money.think about it,they suffer through the wheelstands of a lot of racers.they withstand street use very well. | |

| I hear ya but I've also read a fair number of horror stories so that's why I asked here. And the horror stories I've read are all from people running them on the streets of areas where road conditions aren't so great, like Michigan. I'll look into the QA1 and the AJE brands as well. The deal on the UPR setup is pretty sweet though.
Thanks again, Don | |

| I have a QA1 set up with all the goods. Coil overs, A arms, caster and camber plates. I have not driven mine on the roads yet, but I can't see any weak spots or any reson of failure. They are stronger and lighter then stock K-members. I wonder if the problems you are hearing are do to poor instalations or not useing the tubular A arms with the K-member or no strut tower supports since the bottom end is stronger you should beef up the top side too. | |

| The QA1 can be used with stock struts, springs, and even your stock A-arms if you want just the k-member. | |
