Looks like Santa's being very good to my 'Mont this year. I recently had the engine out (long, long story there...turns out my primary 'Mont is turning red and getting a year newer, temporarily), and when I did, I swapped out my E303 for a Comp HR270XE. More lift, less intake duration at .050, more exhaust duration at .050, and steeper ramps. Figured it was gonna be scary fast with my lightly ported E7TE heads (with stock valves). Well, Santa brought me some GT-40P heads! I've been wanting those for years. I hear that you bolt on 30 ft-lbs of torque when you bolt them on. Then, I flipped them over, and I thought, "Man, those valves look kinda big," and Santa said, "They're 1.94s." I said, "Cool, Santa. Good job.

I'm thinking that, if I ever take it to the strip again, my problems with running 98 frickin' mph will be over.

aug you better check piston to valve clearance with that cam and those bigger valves

SWEET delivery on the heads! I'm looking at a set still. I keep looking but can't find what I want but I'm okay waiting. I have so many other things to do to my car that heads are low on the list right now.

Yeah, piston to valve clearance is definitely going to be checked. I know that I had more than enough with the little valves, but big valves make things different.

Sorry...no pics. Just imagine a set of cast-iron heads, all clean and stuff.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what brand of shorty headers will fit GT-40P heads with no spark plug issues and still mate up to the factory type H-pipe?

I've heard, but cannot verify myself, that MAC's shorty headers fit right in. Check their website.

FYI, I wrote to BBK and they say their long tube headers also work with the p heads.
