friends faimonts

Here are a couple of my friends cars.

Freds 79 futura.


408 windsor for power runs 9.50's with a little "juice". It also cruises the streets on a regular basis.

Next Jay Hinkleman's red box top. Not sure what year.

If you say this car looks familiar...It is a PINKS ALLOUT winner...Milan Michigan. Powered by a big windsor....runs well into the 9's all motor.

I love that red one!! It looks nice as hell.

The 79 uses a c-4...not sure on the convertor. I think it's a 4500 stall. I think he was running somewhere in the mid 10's on the motor.

not bad at all. faster than me but i have a 5spd and prolly a more streetable combo. i bet he dont get 20mpg on the highway

It is a 94 octane pump gas motor. And it's not used as a dd.

Yes. He was the winner at the Pinks All Out in Milan Michigan. He only lives a couple of miles from me.

and the money to go with it. im on cheap used parts. that people almost gave to me because we dont have any fast fairmonts down here roaming the streets anymore.

Hell, we dont have Fairmonts rolling on the streets here at all !....some day mine will ..lol

I know what you mean about the cheap parts. As you can tell from my build, I'm on a real tight budget. I know everything that I'm doing to my car can be BOUGHT. The car would have been done last year if I could have afforded a moser 9", built 8.8, tubular k member, custom motor mounts, custom headers...ect, ect....Those 2 cars are examples of high end cars. Both cars have buku bucks in them.
I chose however to build a jig to fab mounts for my 9" rear, build my own k member spacers build my own motor mounts...and soon, fabbing up my own headers. As my car sits now, I have less than a grand in it....honest ! It would have cost more if I would have built my own engine, but a really good friend donated a fresh 466 for this project. The only stipulation is to return it in one piece.

what kinda heads and intake/cam are you gunna run in that 460?

Heads on this combo are just stock cast iron with a little bit of port work. (humps removed)
Cam is an old school general kinetics hydraulic. .525 lift int & exh. duration is .224@.050. Intake is also an old school torker ll. Not my choice of a combo, but like I said it"s borrowed. Although mild, it does have 11.75:1 compression...that should give it a little kick. Future plans are to finish my police interptor heads for the 468 I've been piecing together. This engine will have approx 10:1 compression...victor intake and an appropriate cam/convertor selection that should put the car in the 10's on pump gas.
