PostSubject: '78-79 Fairmont or Zephyr ES   Sat Feb 16, 2013 1:01 pm

I posted this on FEP, but it occurs to me I haven't posted it here, at the home of Fairmonts & Zephyrs!

Anyone have or know someone who has an ES? Or even KNOW OF one? I can find almost nothing online. I mean, I can find plenty of factory brochures and advertisements, thanks to Stuart's Fairmont Page and others, but no owners. I found a few pictures of another silver Zephyr ES in awful shape that was up for auction, but no idea what happened to it after that. Other than that, just old pictures, some on the old Fairmont302, where i would try and contact the owner, but no luck. Apparently there were 2-doors and 4-doors. I've never seen a picture of a 4-door or even a Fairmont ES outside of brochures. I'd love to talk to someone who has one.

mabe thats a good thing, when you both have such nice looking cars, you want people to see them, not just a blinding blur of light.

There you go.

So, I found one on FEP. Tried contacting the owner, Racinanddrummin, but as usual, got no response. Sweet car though! Looks to have the correct ES interior trim, minus the floor shifter (although I didn't know they came in red) but is missing some exterior cues.

I guess it was an original V8/auto car. Looks really really nice! I hope he didn't have to get rid of it!

Yep, that sounds familiar. I found pictures of an auction that had ended over a year earlier of a silver Zephyr ES. It was an estate sale or something. No one to contact about it or who ended up with it or anything. It was beat up pretty bad, but it sucks especially because this one had the most ES cues all on the same car that I've seen. For example the engine turned dash trim. Mine didn't have that! It had woodgrain! It's got the floor shifter, the blackout exterior trim in all the right places (INCLUDING the lower body side! mine didn't have that either), the original TRX wheels, black bucket seats (they're supposed to be black or tan)...

Either that happens or this: There was a pic of a silver Zephyr ES on the old Fairmont302, and it listed the user that put it there, so I tried emailing him, but got no response. I wish I'd grabbed the pic of that car, but I didn't.

I've never been in a car that had them, but i can only assume they're for opening the vent windows.
