ok my my car is a i6/c4 car. i know i need to change the kmember. i know th oilpan will need to be swapped for a motorsports setup. the c4 bell and torque will need to be changed. what else? will shorty headers work? will it fi under the stock hood[deck height] if so what performance intake can i use.

I have heard some people say they got the 351 under a stock hood, but I think you will need a little scoop. You will need 351W swap headers.


As for the intake, it depends what you want to do, the Edelbrock(spelling?) Performer, and Performer RPM are great street intakes.

I have a 351w in my Futura. I am running Edlebrock Performer RPM heads, cam, intake RPM AIR GAP, and 800 CFM Carb. All most fits under the hood and would have with the right Air Cleaner. Just needs to be about 3/4" - 1 " lower to clear nicely. The Performer intake would help a lot as well.....The Air Gap intake is quite a bit taller.
I also am using BBK Shorties for headers....fit great with no issues.
You will need to make sure you have v8 coil springs too, beefier radiator, and different throttle cable ( shorter for v8's).

I actually like using the 6-cyl throttle cable, because you can just put it in a nice, gentle loop instead of having it try to bend twice to offset to the center of the car.
