| for all our viewing enjoyment! nice straight passengers side pretty good rearend the PO already copied everybody elses name for it im guessing the original front seats, very comfortable the rear, in terrific condition the dash, very dry and cracked under the cover the cool floor shifter instead of the column like the old car. by the way, the button your supposed to press and hold while putting in gear doesnt work, and you can put it in gear without pressing it in, anyone know how to fix it? i thought the analog clock in the bottom of the guages was cool, it still even kept accurate time both doors are in great shape and the original hubcaps, all in good condition | |

| There is a cable inside the shifter connected to the button and a pawl at the base of the shifter. this prevents the car from accidentally shifted into opposing gears. The cable must be broken. | |

| looks really nice, i've always been partial to white cars, my first fairmont back in 82 was white with a half landau blue vinyl top, blue interior, cassette and rear window heater, it had a 4 banger with a bench seat. i absolutely hated the thing, but my wife loved it, new american car, nice & smooth, quiet. but with the one i have now it's another story, she hates it and the only thing she likes about the dammed thing is that i park it at work. yours looks nice, hang on to it. | |

The cable must be broken. how do i access that without screwing the whole thing up? I've never taken the time to study the shifter. I've had 2 of them break on me and leaving me stranded....both times I ended up breaking the side of the shifter to acsess the pawl and lift it with a screw driver to get me back home....each timeI went to the j/y to buy another one....I'm sure with a little patients, they can be repaired. | |
