| Where have yall been???? Its been freakin dead here. Hopefully working away on your f/z's, but Post some stuff guys! lol Anything.... Weird things that have happened to you and your fairmont, weird things it does, racing kill storys(I beat a neon and a maxima with the wagon! lol), write a whole page about how much my car sucks or post cute pictures of your cat, even if its just drunken ramblings it would be nice to read something new on here.... lol I try and add stuff, but I am just to poor to have huge exciting updates, and I'm not very exciting anyways... lol Well, hopefully this inspires everyone to keep this fourm movin, its almost as slow as the old one... No where near as bad though... lol And Jeff, BUY A FAIRMONT OR ZEPHYR, you know you want to..... Other cars cannot compare. Later Xander | |

| I'm right here! Slowly working on the Zephyr and trying to get it ready for the show in a couple weeks.
But between work, school and kinda crappy weather when I have the chance to do anything it slows me down actually working on it! But I've been able to get the almost perfect interior paint, get two hub caps painted and well.....thats pretty much it.
Hopefully this weekend I'll go all out and get the interior 80% done and the other two hubcaps painted. Heres hopin!!
And yeah its been kinda dead.....oh well.
Us F/Z owners are a rare breed since we actually LIKE this cars!!!

| still cant find them dammed cougars.....or any salvageable mustangs, half my roof blew off, theres no work, my dog of 11 years had to be put down, two of the the other 4 cars are in need of maintenance, the raydidio and amp in the fairmont are screwed. i had a migraine for 4 days, missed more work, had to give away some really good jobs, then i had to go to the doctor for pills & bood tests, hot water heater is crapping-out, screw it , i want another migraine, i didnt realise what a relief they can be. no cooking, no cleaning, washing, no argueing, no shopping,no stress, just sweet pain, with peace and quiet in a darkened room. the pills are good, if you dont mind your piss coming out as thick as pancake mix. so long as long as no decisions, reading, driving, or sudden movements are required, they can be quite pleasurable, as they say there is a fine line between a hobby and an obsession, there is also a fine line between pleasure and pain. sometime if you dont have something good to say...........you just wait. hurry up the 21st so i can escape into another realm of excitement, when i park my heap in amongst those mustangs, it may have been a shitty few weeks, but i aint lost my humor. things always get better.... please pardon my sharp exit, i think an anvil is falling from the sky, and i'm not as agile as wyle e coyote..... hang-on, i did get another fuel filler hose, this may seem unimportant to some, but finding a 1 & 1/4 id fuel hose is not easy. i hope everyone makes some progress on their cars, that wagon is coming along good, and those wheels are cool, i always hated wagons, but yours looks really cool in grey primer, if it were mine, i'd be reluctant to paint it, it looks menacing.....even the battle scarred frt bumper adds character. whers them damed cougars......... here kitty kitty kitty!!! | |

| Between moving to a new place and dealing with my wife, who underwent some serious dental work ( pulled two molars and a bunch of fillings ) I haven't had a lot of spare time, but the money I'm saving from the move will hopefully go into the zephyr so maybe I can bring it to Minnesota in June instead of the Tbird. | |

| Its hard to report anything when your cars are finished and nothing new about your cars is happening.
I just spent 3 days getting my car smog check. Here is what happened. Day 1. Went to the only guy I trust in my car. He is closed for 3 months while they add a convenence store to the service station. He tells me to see his friend at another place. I drive around looking for this other place. After an hour I go home and change cars. He told me the wrong street. I finally find the place & work out the same price that my regular guy would have given me. Tell him I will come back tomorrow.
Day 2. I drive over to the new place. The guy I worked out the lower price with is not there. It is his day off. This guy will not give me the $20 lower price.
Day 3. I get there and the guy starts to smog the car. He gets on the phone, He looks at books, He calls the guy that usually smogs my car, He calls the day 2 guy who's day off it is to come look at my car. Lucky for me that he lived nearby. They have no clue as to the timing and rpm settings, and smog systems on the motor. I try to explain it to them, but get told to wait outside. Then they cannot find the EVAP system. So I get to re-enter and show them where it is. My car passes with flying colors as always. The process at the station took an hour.
I know I should have brought all the repair manuals that have all the data they were looking for. I hate breaking in new smog techs.
Also, I have added all the years 78-83 F/Z wiring diagrams to my web site from the Mitchell's Manuals, as well as the Tune-Up and rebuild guide for the 1bb Holley 1946 carb.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I bought some Zephyr emblems off eBay the other day. I was the only one who bid on them. The guy who sold them had a very funny description about the cars. In case you missed it here is what he wrote.
"These are some rare emblems from a 78 Zephyr Z7 sport coupe. I have spent 30 years regreting my part in manufacturing these pathetic pieces of rolling junk. Strangely our sales people at Ford managed to persuade someone to buy one. These emblems are all that's left of it. The rest went to a crusher that apparently had no scrupples about consuming low grade steele. In the event there was a second one sold, I am offering these parts to that rare collector of the 70's version of the Edsel. All sales will be strictly confidential to protect the identity of the dumn a-- that owns one of these white elephants."
Along with my payment I told him that I disagreed with him and that after owning one for 32 years, I have found these cars very reliable.

| I've been putting the finishing touches on this customer truck: Which started out like this about 1.5 years ago: But I had to strip it down to a Before tons of rust repair (Massachusetts truck) could progress as such: So that's been it for the last good while. But it's nearly finished, and when it is, it'll be time to build a couple more cars for myself for a change. Which one first... -Mike S. | |

| Yes, '61 Galaxie. These are only temp wheels, it's getting 15" wide and narrow cream colored steelies with '56 Merc dog dish caps, rings, and blackwalls. And kudos for correctly identifying the Y block, you'd be surprised (or disgusted) at how many people think it's a SBC.

| thank you sir, it's a pleasure to se some else who knows old car parts, my old man was a ford guy, and when i was a kid we had a 62 galaxie as well as other fords, thats why i remembered the hub caps.i've seen so many of the fiberglass repro-duece coupe kits, and over the years, ive noticed so many have sb 350 installed. it is nice to see that over the last few years there have been a few at local cars shows have been using the ford engines. some have even used the old flat heads, 292 & 312's 289, & 302's. however you look at it, it's a lot cheaper & easier to beef-up a 350 than a 302. ford parts are expensive and can be difficult to find at times, chevy stuff is everywhere and cheap. back in the day, everybody had 312's in thier coupes or buckets. or a 292. i never saw much go on with the 352 or 390 engines. anyway, thats a real nice job, it looks super cool, i reckon those new wheels and trims wheels will look great. keep it up!!! | |

| Seems like everyone has been pretty busy lol. That is one nice truck, and I love the Y block. Very cool. Thanks fangar150-ex I like the grey primer too, but I want it protected from rust, it will probably not end up much shinier then it is though LOL.... Futurama that sucks, your car was super clean... You should post more pics of the wagon, its always cool to see other ones. | |

| After a year of sitting around with me puttering away at it, my rebuilt inline six engine will get some fluids today and hopefully get cranked up. It's outside, frozen, maybe -20C today.... | |
