| I doubt it, but I've seen them swapped into Fox Mustangs, so it is possible.

| thanks, i just thought about it the other day, i saw a 2000 mustang that i thought was going to the bone yard, so i figured i'd grab the dash before it goes. im just wandering if it has the same dimensions. i thought it might be a job and a half, but it's gotta be worth it just for the cup holders and ford style cd 6 player. my 93 mustang dash wont let the cd 6 player fit, and im tired of wearing my coffee and filling up the radios with coffee. | |

| The top of the dash will have to be cut and flattened to match the contour of the windshield, with some mods to the defroster registers. There are a few mounting brackets in the radio/center stack area that have to be removed from the 2000 and welded into the Fairmont. Aside from that, the floor and firewall areas are nearly the same, so it's small detail work to get everything mounted.
I actually saw one of these installed in a '69 Camaro at a show a few years ago, and aside from looking really weird, it fit very well. Don't look for an easy 1-weekender, but it should be a fun project and if you ever decided to go with Modular power, that dash and the matching wire harness would make the whole car a plug'n'play deal.

| im gonna see if i can find another one, as soon as i mentioned i wanted to pay the bill on the car, and use it for parts, the customer became interested in it again. another time wasting extravaganza. im thinking about the 2000 era dashes now. i can get my buddy to do the welding as it is required. i just want a newer dash. i figure if i shell the car out, i can get the whole loom from the car so far as lighting fans, a/c is concerned. i like doing the wiring projects!!! i can also make it 4.6 ready as well. i have a problem with changing my mind, i dont like keeping the same things. once it's done, it's time to try somthing else. my other problem is that i dont like paying extortionate prices for junk. i already pissed the local recycling agent off beyond reproach. we discussed several items, we were not able to agree on the prices, so i explained when the car goes into the crusher, we both loose.......he just couldn't take a beating, so instead he took a loss. there are some in tucson that i need to go to, i have bought parts from aviation and catalina, but im not sure they are open on saturdays. i have a red car, so unless the dash is black, it aint gonna look so good. i do want to perform this mod. ive been told there are a couple of 67 &/or 68 cougars behind a guys garage for sale. so i have been trying to locate these cougars. man i want those cougars, BADLY!!! i heard they are intact, but whre are they? | |

| I wouldn't mind having a Cougar from that era and I can never seem to find one that is cheap and runs. All are basket cases and need tons of work. I do know where some Cougars like that are, don't know if they are for sale or not. They are wayyyyy out in Marana. Not Tucson Marana but like out towards the Airpark area. Could those be the ones?
But I think an SN95 or S197 dash would look cool in a Fairmont, could this be the first one ever done? If you decided to go that route. | |

| most of the cougars ive run around are in poor condition, but i was told these are intact, of copurse this is heard from a friend of a friend of a friend, so im trying to find out where they are, and who has them, last time i found 2 cougars they were IN WORSE THAN POOR CONDITION. i want one, and i'm just trying to get a phone # or adress, then the evaluation can begin. i thinking hard about this dash, i reckon its a challenge, but it has to be worth it. | |

| As for cupholders, since i don't have the e-brake lever in my '87-93 center console, i think i'm going to try and find a center console at the junkyard i can cut the cupholders out of and put in the spot the lever would normall go. I should be able to make something that looks reasonably stock... i have a Plug 'n Chug in the ashtray, but the cupholders are only big enough to fit a pop can, and i often prefer bottles. | |
