| Tomorrow, the figure in the "age" field under my screen name will change from 42 to 43. So, to celebrate an early birthday, I went out and treated myself to some high quality junk! Got a new naked bumper for the Futura!!! You know how hard these things are to find? It was on a '78 Futura coupe, a car which also gave me several more gifts. It's real nice, no dents, still shiny and not milky like you usually see. Another yard had a complete, nice '75 Dodge Monaco that I got nearly the entire interior out of for my Bluesmobile, a project that's set to start real soon now. -Mike S. | |

| LUCKY! I would love to find a super clean set of bumpers for my Zephyr. Mine have a few dings and the "pitting", guess thats what you'd call it. The Phoenix area junk yards have wayyy better stuff than the ones down here in Tucson. I might have to make a day trip up there to harvest some stuff.
It'll be awesome to see that bluesmobile come together.

Yes you might. It's feast or famine here, the last time I was in Ecology on 27th ave, they had NO Fairmonts or Zephyrs of any kind. None. Now, they have six, including four moredoors, one of which is a realllllll clean early '78 factory 302 car that I got the trunk mat out of. 2 eye, clear parking lights, plain interior, factory air... Another has a factory clock in with the gas gauge, one has the vent window option. So come here now if you want a good selection of goodies. Anyway, since today is my birthday, and for a change, I'm not working on it due to the fact that it fell on a weekend (it's about time) I did a little no-big-deal wrenching and put the naked bumper on the Futura. I like it, the plain bumper is almost in stark contrast to the four eye Futura package with the fancy side trim, but does it ever clean up the front of the car when you lose the guards. BTW, if any of you Zonies needs the original bumper, it's nice so come'n'git it for 25 bucks. -Mike S.
