| I've finally gotten a few things done to the wagon, I welded up the holes in the left front fender and painted it all primer grey, I also wire wheeled and POR-15'ed all of the rusty areas on the lower half of the car. I also POR-15'ed and painted the drivers front door becuase all of the paint was coming off.... lol I found a nice dent too that I'll fix asap, but I'm currently more concerned about getting it all one shade of grey(primer LOL.) Unfortunately I ran out of gas for the welder after welding in my SFC's in my 4 door so I need to wait until I get a job, and then get paid so I can get some more gas and finish welding up the trim holes. Then, I will primer the whole thing, and start to think about what color grey/silver I would like to paint it. Oh and I got the rims for a good deal from a guy in the mustang club, I like them better then the 10 holes, the front tires are alittle small though... I also need a front and rear bumper as you can see... The rear was like the when I got it but the front is thanks to a drunk old lady ramming my neighbors Tarus(spelling? lol) into my front end.... Mechanically it is all still the same as before. I have done one front wheel bearing(soon the other one too), front pads, rear wheel cylinders, rear shocks, and a new fan belt(No more squeals!!! lol.) As soon as money allows though, I need to get new front rotors, front calipers, pads, the other wheel bearing, front struts, Mustang sway bar, along with polyurethane bushings and end links. Once i get that stuff out of the way I can look for a mustang donor and get a 5L and 5 speed in her. Then I will finally be able to pass someone!!!! Sorry for the story lol... | |

| I have a set of those rims. I have not looked at them in a couple of years. My Z-7 is 5 lug and my 4-door has narrower tires. I was going to save them until it needed tires. But with the amount of driving I do, I will be dead by then. I would have to research how much they are worth, and shipping if you were interested. You can see the rims here. http://jpkvideoonline.com/zephyr_1.htmThats the only picture of them that is on line. That wagon is looking great. I thought about getting one a couple of times, but the rear plastic pieces are usually pretty rotted. Keep us posted. I like seeing progress pictures. | |

| Hmmm....well if the price right. I think the brand of the rims is Enkei, but not really sure cause quite a few companies made rims like that in the 80s. | |

| I can get a close up of just the rim, they are a mesh design in the center... Kinda like the old saleen rims.
No idea what company mine are....
I'm having a strange problem with the wagon, whenever I turn left or brake hard it sounds like the left front tire is rubbing on something, but I cant see where? The only area with the paint worn off of it under the whole front end is at the rear of the left inner fender, where it sticks out a bit where the parking brake cable runs. The problem is, the tire is like half a foot from it, even at full lock... So I dont see how it could be rubbing there??? Maybe I have a worn out ball joint? So its moving when pressure is applied to it? I have even went from 225/60's to 205/50's....
Anyone else have a simailar problem?? I guess I should check the ball joints... so well see.

| Well I figured it out... It was just a really bad wheel bearing. So I replaced the front wheel bearings and the rotor on that side. Now it seems good. I also did a bit of body work while I was working on it. I welded up the trim holes on the passenger front fender I got welding gas too so I'll be doing the rest asap. I wire wheeled and then painted all of the rust on the back, and bare metal with POR-15. Then primed it. Not very neat painting.. but thats alright lol The different color primer areas I need to go back over... More sanding is needed Detroitiron, this is what they look like up close... Excuse the dirtyness, its been raining alot here lately.. and I know I need to paint my drums... Its on the to do list lol. | |

Good job man! Keep it up and that wagon will look sharp once it's done. Thanks bro! I just used my/my Dads 200 dollar MIG. Its not perfect, but I dont expect it to be, its a Fairmont after all lol I'm hopeing to get it painted before winter, and cant wait to see what it looks like Even my dads Zephyr back in the day looked haggard lol, with the primer showing on the roof and hood.

| Figured I should post an updated pic since I did a bit of work. Finally got the rest of the trim holes welded up. the cars still in primer(With POR-15 underneath) but looks better I think. I also painted grey part of the grill black, and put my winter rims on the car. I still need a to do the body work, and get the car straight, get front and rear bumpers, new tail lights and paint the car lol, but that will have to wait until spring... | |

| Finally got something nice for the wagon! lol My rag joint was f-ed, and there was a ton of play in the steering, so I needed to replace it. I looked at the rag joint from jegs and it was $105 and the flaming river steering shaft was $179, I decided that the extra money was worth it, even just for the look, but it feels a ton better as well, its nice to have the car go where I point it... lol Old shaft New shaft | |
