Well... let's see. I have owned a few F/Z s in the past 10 years or so. The first one I bought, I had no cluw what it was, eccept that it was Ford and rear wheel drive. This was enough for me. It was a 79 Futura, Red with White Vinal top. The interior was more of the same. Being the dumb 16 year old, I rolled this neer showroom condition car in a damn ditch and have cursed myself every day since. After that the list is like this.... 80 Futura 2.3 manual, 82 Zephyr Z7 I6 Auto, 78 Zephyr Z7 I6 Auto, and now my 82 Zephyr Z7 I6 Manual. All but the last two have found there way to the crusher. I sold the 78 to my girlfriend's brother and I still have my 82 and love driving it every chance I get. Some time I would love to build a peppy 250 inline 6 to put in front of my 5 speed for a 5.0. 99% of project fox bodies are v8. I wish to remain different. Any idea on Parts or compete 250 inline 6's?????

Welcome to the site.

I got a *real nice* 200 if you want one for a spare. It's complete from carb to oil pan (even has an SROD behind it). The last time I started it before I took it out of the car, it had been sitting for about six months. I pumped the throttle one time, breathed on the key, and it was running. Waited 30 seconds, and it kicked down and idled smooth.

I was thinking it would be cool to turbocharge it.

Later,
Mike.

Thanks for the offer mike, but I already have a 200 with a 4 speed. I might know someone that would be interested, but if I read right you are in Pensilvania and he won't want to go that far to get it. The 200s are kinda a dime a dozen around here. The manual isn't, but he is willing to wait for me to do my swap then he will get mine.
I want a 250 because it has the same bell housing bolt pattern as a 302 and I have a 5 speed mustang drive train. Thanks for the offer though. Also, there are a lot more options for mods on the 250. Mainly because of the removable intake manifold. The problem is that it has proven next to imposible to find a 250.

The 250 does not have a removable intake manifold, it has the same type head as the 200. Also, you'll have a hard time fitting it under a stock hood, it's pretty tall.

WELCOME ABOARD!!

When you figure out what you want to do with the 6 let me know. I'm seriously looking at a wagon with a 6 and want to improve it's performance for mileage and a bit of HP. Not too radical though cuz this wagon is too nice to cut up.

Hey Don... not sure if you know about it or not, but there is a site that is devoted to small ford inline 6 motors. Just do a search for... CLASSIC INLINES ...it should be the first thing that comes up. They have parts to help you with I6's. Through them you can do a mild build or you can make over 400 hp from a 200. They are the only people I know of that offer an aluminum aftermarket preformance head for these motors. They should also be offering modified used cast iron heads. You can also look at dyno test results from a good amount of their parts on that site. You can even read about and potentialy order Australian Ford inline 6 motors. In Australia they built them with a cross flow head and late enough that some had multi port fuel injection. Fun reading! Check out the site. At the least it can give you some ideas.

This was my first try at painting a car. I bought this car for $50, dumped in trani fluid and drove it. Then I put about $200 in the paint and body. Not bad for a $250 car.

The 250 does not have a fox-body oil pan.
You would have to fab something up.
Just build a hot 200. I love my sixes, but the kind of love you would have for a stray mutt.
There's the forum at fordsix.com if you're in to it.

^ Yup, lots of things to do to improve the 200, and they can make some good power too.

I was thinking of doing up mine, but.... I'm not a 6 cylinder kinda guy...
