hey electro-heads; do not use the cheap chinese fuses.
we have expereinced an issue where the fuse will not blow and the wire melts.
these fuses may not even have the rght pin tension and cause excessive resistance and heat in the fuse-box, this goes for the regular blade-type fuses in the orignal fairmont fuse boxes and the newer mini fuses.
i tried to blow a 10 amp fuse this morning just for grins & giggles, it made a hell of a crack when the circuit was shorted, more like a 30 amp or more rated fuse!!!! the case of the fuse was well black inside.
some of these fuses do not even have the same gauge fusible portion, or are thick and thin on the fuse element.
when removing one fuse from the tester, the case pulled-off and left the blade in the fuse socket.
