| I was hoping to take my high-school 2-door Fairmont to my 20th reunion, but it broke a couple of years ago, and the full restoration won't be done by then. So, I'm gonna take a substitute Fairmont, and it's gonna be badass! | |

And do ya ever go to Cedar Falls Raceway for friday nite test-n-tune or Saturday Mid-nite mania ? Yes, I have been to Cedar Falls Raceway with this car. Friday night test and tune only and that was back in 2005. Was sadly disappointed though. 13.80@99mph in the 1/4. The engine is 351W .040, Eldebrock Performer cam and intake, 600 Holley DP on top,GT40P heads with big valves, Hedman 1 3/4 full tube headers, 2 1/2 full exhaust, KAT gear drive up front, 7.5 rear 3.55 trac loc. I ran the Cooper Cobra GT tires down at the track and could not get it to hook up. Also was having a fuel issue that night as well. Not sure I will ever get back down there again, but would like to.

| The P heads are great on a mild 302, but they are a cork on a healthy Windsor. Trap speed tells that tale. You're a pair of AFRs away from solid 12s, at which point you'll probably find the end of the 7.5's durability limit in rather spectacular fashion. I'd swap in an 8.8 before that happens.

-Mike S. Mike, The GT40P heads I have are not stock heads. They have been ported and 1.94 intake/ 1.60 exhaust. I have Scorpion 1.7 roller rockers on top to help boost the lift a little over the performer rating. The heads were used when I bought them and originally on a mud running truck and flowed great. He spun his 351W a lot harder than I am. They may not flow as good as AFR's but the $150.00 price tag was what I could afford at the time. Thanks for the Advice Dennis

I would have to agree. If I ever get the urge to go back down I have an in-law who has a pair of DOT cheater slick radials he may let me buy or borrow. They are a little shoter than the 275/60-15 Coopers I have on it and would lower the ratio a bit. Might even improve my 60' times for sure.

| I'd say performer rpm, 750 dp holley, 3500 convertor,3.73 gear, and some drag radials=12's all day long. | |
