PostSubject: 87-93 Mustang Bucket Seats   Wed Mar 11, 2009 7:40 pm

I located a nice set of '89 Mustang bucket seats that I was thinking would look good in my '80 Futura. Has anyone ever put Mustang seats in the Fairmont? What do I need to be aware of? The Futura currently has a power bench seat in it.

Rich

A power bench? I didn't think there was such an animal! As far as the Stang buckets, as long as you get the seat tracks, they should be a direct bolt in, I think even the bench cars had the holes for buckets already in the floor

yeah they'll fit, loads of mustang seats fit, i kinda like the slimmer seats from the 2000 model, just be sure to get some seat belt buckles unless you want to use the originals from the bench seat which will be floppy. the mustang buckles are covered in a stiff shell to keep them upright, the buckles from an 89 should be direct fit to the 80 model seat belt retractors.

If your bench seat Fairmont is like my bench seat Fairmont, then the nut serts for the inner bucket seat rail won't be there where the front seat bolts in. The hole will be there, just no threads to stick a bolt in.
