| went to Bisbee this weekend to visit a friend who i haven't seen in a while, we went out on his ranch and i tried out my new 22 rifle only to find that it not only shoots around corners, but up and over hills, (that was funny) moral of the story take cash or try it out first!!!! i had been talking to someone about brakelines, which made me think about the fairmont, and since work was slow today, i did some work on the fuel filter & lines, and a few other bits and pieces got a work order and a plate and took it for it's first road test after the 5.0 installation. it ran ok.... but i feel that it's down on power. all the the cylinder temps seem pretty close so far as an I/R tester can be accurate, but there was a lot of other usefull info gathered that can't be performed in the shop. i'll have to make further evaluations after it has a complete exhaust. it did sit for quite a long time, even though it has low miles, maybe the engine is junk. (the whole car is made from junk, so who cares) i suppose that i shouldn't complain, the check engine light never came on, and as i made the loom, that makes me happy. considering that there is only bad news on the tube and the airwaves, I'm happy to say, its been a good week, even if the engine is junk, at least i know about about a potential problem, and also i have a virtually unused taget for next time. we need to have some good news, maybe a bit more good news and things will begin to change. later jb.... | |

I'd be happy, too, as long as one of the loom-making mistakes I made wasn't forgetting to hook up the check engine light. "Never criticize a man before you walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away, and you have his shoes." Later, Mike. | |

| making the loom was not a problem other than finding all the connectors, as Im using a Lincoln engine, and wiring it up to a 93 mustang dash, i decided to put the PCM under the passenger frt seat, so it was easier to make one than all that fiddling about, and I'm 2 cheap to buy one. yeah the check engine light works fine, i think i may have a fuel pressure problem, i dont know yet, when I have some time, I'll figure it out. I like that idea about being a mile away when you criticise the guy, but how do find out what size shoes the dude wears without being suspicious, and at what opportunity would you consider it safe to remove them. | |
